Your Guide to Watching the MTV EMA 2020 from Home

Are you ready for the 2020 MTV EMA? Like, do you have your winners picked? Your calendar blocked off? Your *ensemble* all sorted out?? I know, I know, the show isn't going to be anything like it's been in years before (thanks, 2020), but that doesn't mean we can't do ev. er. y. thing. possible to make it feel like we're there, right?? Have no fear! We've put together a quick little guide to help you set up the ultimate at-home EMA viewing experience.

THE ~SPECIAL~ EARLY WINNER LIVE STREAM
Hours before the 2020 MTV EMA kick off, we're giving away trophies to the Best Regional Act winners. We're talking Best Nordic Act, Best Brasilian Act, Best Korean Act — that sort of thing. Johnny Orlando, last year's Best Canadian Act, will be presenting the awards on MTV EMA Facebook Live at 7PM CET. Make sure to tune in — you never know who might show up!

THE PRE-GAME
The party is starting early! Tune into MTV at 8PM CET for exclusive interviews and performances by Why Don't We, Madison Beer, and 24kGoldn.

THE SHOW
Then, (duhhhh) you've gotta watch the show! Where can you watch the 2020 MTV EMA? Well, you have some options: You can watch the 2020 MTV EMA on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 9PM CET on MTV or mtvema.com. You won't want to miss performances by Alicia Keys, Sam Smith, Maluma, Doja Cat, DaBaby, YUNGBLUD, Tate McRae, Jack Harlow, Karol G and David Guetta!

THE LOOK
Just because you're not actually leaving your home doesn't mean you have to look like it. The MTV EMA is an *EVENT*, honey! Dress the part! Feel free to go full glam with hair, makeup, and nails, too! You can always post it on Instagram Reels—people will see it if you want them to. But if your preferred viewing ensemble is head-to-toe matching sweats (which, same), do you.

THE YUMS
The EMA always brings so many different countries and territories together, and one of the most satisfying ways to replicate that feeling is with FOOD. Set yourself up with a global buffet of cuisines and snacks from all around the world. If nothing else, try to have a few Jaffa cakes on deck to rep for your 2020 MTV EMA hosts: the UK's very own, Little Mix.

THE AMBIENCE
Sooooo your home isn't exactly a massive international sports arena (honestly, that's probably a good thing), but there are definitely things you can do to make it feel a little more EMA *festive*.  If you can get your hands on some colored lights—string lights, strobe lights, neons, those smart lights that change colors with an app, whatever—dim or totally shut off your primary lights and let the vibes happen.

If you head on over to Instagram, we did a lot of work for you with our super colorful filters. We've got goofy glasses. We've got a virtual trophy. We've even got a fun quiz. Try 'em out!

Maybe even prepare yourself a goodie bag like the celebs pick up in the VIP lounge and fill it with your fanciest wares: luxurious skincare items, high quality kitchen items, your dad's most expensive watch (he'll understand).
