A MOUNTAIN OF ENTERTAINMENT.

That's A Wrap! All the Winners and Performers from the MTV EMA 2021 Show

On Sunday, November 14, the BIGGEST night in global music honored this year's best and brightest in Budapest! Live from the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna in Hungary, MTV viewers from over 180 countries saw their favourite artists hit the stage.

In addition to receiving the "Best New" award, host Saweetie made sure to keep viewers engaged throughout the show too. She cemented her status as the Icy Girl when she landed on the stage with the help of a giant snowflake, ultimately melting hearts with her medley of "Best Friend," "OUT OUT" and "Tap In." Other memorable host moments include when she chatted with her bestie, Brazilian singer Anitta, chilled with Squid Games-inspired soldiers and stayed hydrated by the pool with champagne.

Loyal MTV EMA viewers may remember that Ed Sheeran hosted back in 2015, and this year he started off the show with "Overpass Graffiti" and an apropos set covered in neon spray paint. But if you were late to the show, never fear! Sheeran came back once again performing "Shivers" and receiving two awards, "Best Artist" and "Best Song." Pretty nice additions to his swag bag!

And another veteran MTV EMA performer, Maluma, hit the stage with "MAMA TETEMA," bringing Tanzanian artist Rayvanny — and a rainstorm — onto the stage. Hopefully he brought towels to dry off his new "Best Latin" winner award! And "Best Alternative" winner YUNGBLUD, returned to the MTV EMA stage as he performed "fleabag," to an energized audience.

Hitmakers and stars of the stage and screen who also attended including Rita Ora, OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder, Winnie Harlow, WWE's Drew McIntyre, Joel Corry, Olly Alexander and Manu Gavassi.

After performing "MAMMAMIA" to a standing ovation, EuroVision winners Måneskin can now include their "Best Rock" award in their trophy case. Måneskin weren't the only band to hit the stage that night, as Imagine Dragons performed "Enemy" with J.I.D. with a crew of backup dancers.

Other artists who hit the MTV EMA stage for the first time include, Griff with "One Night," MTV PUSH artist girl in red with "Serotonin," and Kim Petras with "Coconuts" and "Hit It From The Back."

The evening also recognized the efforts of five MTV EMA Generation Change Award honorees through their work towards equity for the LGBTQ+ communities. Each honoree has selected a specific cause to which MTV will donate to. With an intro by Drew Barrymore, the five honorees included: Amir Ashour of IraQueer, Matthew Blaise of The Oasis Project, Sage Dolan-Sandrino of TEAM Mag, Viktória Radványi of Budapest Pride and Erika Hilton, the first Black trans woman elected in São Paulo, Brazil.

As the 2021 MTV EMAs sails down the Danube River, who knows where it'll be headed next? Keep your eyes peeled on mtvema.com for next year's show location!
